Like many people today, I have had many forks in the road of my professional and educational journeys. I have two B.S. degrees, one in Industrial Safety Management and the other in eBusiness. I also have an MBA in Management and am an ordained deacon in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. Along the way, I was a Food Service Director, a Firefighter/EMT, and trained as an Air Traffic Controller.

Coming Out of the Dark

March 7, 2022

Hope Springs Eternal The past two years have seemed like one long interminable winter. What began with a purported two-weeks of isolation, turned into a two-year adventure of twists, turns, highs, and lows, as we meandered through the uncertainty of the pandemic. But now, as the metaphorical and meteorological Spring intersect, we can finally begin […]

Saluting Our Veterans

November 8, 2020

Honor, Duty & Sacrifice As the U.S. Key Account Manager for Government Business, it is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve those who have served us. But it doesn’t stop there. No, it goes much deeper than that for me! Like many, it is a personal endeavor of mine […]

The Power of Conviction

July 30, 2020

Preach It! As an ordained minister, a deacon in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, I am called to educate, motivate, inspire and serve. In essence, I am the conduit that is utilized to reach the hearts of people, wherever they are on their journey. Now, whether I’m dressed in a suit and addressing our sales […]

Rise and Shine Campers As we continue to meander through the day-to-day norm of the pandemic, I’m sure that many of us feel like we are stuck in the loop of life; our own version of groundhog day. Even those of us who are strong-willed have days that frustrate us and make us wonder when […]

Our Current “Norm” These are certainly interesting times that we are living in! Many feel isolated, and even scared about their future, as well as the well-being and future of our country and the entire world. But, now is not the time to panic. No, now is the time for us to adapt to this […]

Gazing Into 2020 What an amazing year it has been! Collectively, we have been handed many new and exciting challenges. These challenges are the building blocks that will transform and propel our organization for years to come. New challenges always lead to some anxiety, but we have persevered and prepared to embrace the new Essity […]

Embracing Change

June 17, 2019

The Only Constant Is Change   Many throughout history have noted the dynamic of change in the world around them.  In the 5th century B.C., the Greek philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus stated that “The Only Thing That is Constant is Change”.  Fast Forward to another great poet and philosopher of the 20th century, by the name […]

One Band One Sound! As I begin to embark on practicing for the 13th Annual Yough Alumni Jazz Band Concert, I can’t help thinking about the various parts of our band that come together in order to make amazing music.  While most of us are not professional musicians, this one or two month window when we […]

The Culture of Success

December 4, 2018

In The Beginning… When I joined Essity four years ago, or SCA as it was then known, I did so in large part due to the culture of the organization.  A culture steeped in ethical behavior, integrity, collaboration, and a highly professional atmosphere.  The fact that TENA is the global leader in the incontinence market enticed me, […]

Welcome to the journey of Joe, a short introduction to my life.  You better buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy road! Let me begin with this thought:  While education and careers define what we do, it’s ultimately family and relationships that define who we are. What I’ve Done First off, my educational journey […]
